This week was by far the best week of the season in the NFL as we saw the best of the best in the league put on a show in week six!

There were a lot of great performances this week by the best teams in the NFL, but it was the quarterbacks that dominated as Drew Brees, Brett Favre and Tom Brady lived up to their reputations and had their best games of the season.

Here is a breakdown of the best games of week six:

Baltimore Ravens @ Minnesota Vikings

Coming into this game the Ravens were desperate to get a win and prevent a three game losing streak. The Vikings on the other hand were looking to stay perfect and keep their undefeated record intact. Both teams had an agenda and both teams absolutely played their hearts out on Sunday as the game went down to the wire and ended on a missed field goal by the Ravens.

Brett Favre was fantastic once again throwing for 278 yards, three touchdowns passes and no interceptions. It was all because of Favre’s last drive down the field and 58 yard pass to Sidney Rice that paved the way for what turned out to be the game winning field goal by Ryan Longwell.

The Ravens hung tough throughout the game, mostly due to Joe Flacco’s impressive performance down the stretch as the second year quarterback kept the Ravens in contention late in the game, but it wasn’t enough as Ravens kicker Steven Hauschka missed a last second field goal which ultimately gave the Vikings the 33-31 victory to stay undefeated at 6-0.

New York Giants @ New Orleans Saints

This game was the game of week in my opinion, the final score won’t reflect that, but the magnitude of this game was what it was all about as one of these NFC teams was going to lose their first game of the season.

The Saints offense has been pretty much unstoppable this season led by quarterback Drew Brees, but they had yet to play a defense that could really test their offense until they went up against the best defense in the NFL in the New York Giants.

Not only have the Giants been solid on defense this season, but they have been just as good on the offensive side of the football as well, at least until they were torn apart against Drew Brees and company.

Putting up 45 points against the Detroit Lions wasn’t all that much of a surprise for the Saints, but scoring 48 points against arguably the best defense in the NFL is impressive to say the least. The Saints seem like they’re a division one college team playing against a no name college and just lighting the scoreboard.

After this extremely impressive win over the Giants it would hard to argue that the New Orleans Saints aren’t the best team in the NFL right now!

Tennessee Titans @ New England Patriots

Last season this would have been a prime time matchup that would have some pretty big implications, but this season the Patriots made the Titans look like the Cleveland Browns as they absolutely lit up Tennessee for 59 points.

A couple of seasons ago the Patriots scoring 59 points wasn’t too much of a surprise, but this season it is a big time headline as New England and Tom Brady have struggled in the first few weeks of the season and have failed to get back to dominant form at least until week six that is.

Tom Brady was just spectacular in week six against the Titans as he could do no wrong and looked as comfortable as ever in the pocket. Perhaps the most impressive part of Brady’s six touchdown game, besides the fact that he threw five of those touchdowns in one quarter, is that he did all of that in the snow!

Not only is it damn near impossible to get any kind of offense going in snowy weather, but to put up a performance like Brady did in week six is one for the record books!

Keep an eye on Brady in the upcoming weeks as I think we might just see the Brady of old.
