2012 NFL Running Back Prop Bets

Who’s the best running back in the NFL? Well, Vegas oddsmakers are saying the man with the best chance of leading the NFL in rushing in 2012 is Arian Foster of the Houston Texans.  He led the NFL in rushing in 2010, but in 2011 it was Maurice Jones-Drew of the Jacksonville Jaguars, who only ended a 38-day holdout this past weekend.

The next best bet after Foster is Chris Johnson of the Tennessee Titans, who led the league in rushing yards back in 2009.  Overall, Vegas gives odds for 20 of the best running backs in the NFL, and for most gives over/unders on what kind of stats they’ll put up in 2012.  We’ve got them all below.

2012 NFL Quarterback Prop Bets

Aaron Rodgers may be the favorite to repeat as NFL MVP, but he only has the third best odds of leading the NFL in passing yards. Drew Brees, who led the NFL in passing yards last year, is the favorite to do it again in 2012, with Tom Brady close behind. Let’s take a look at projected passing stats for nearly two dozen of the NFL’s best quarterbacks, shall we?

Here are your NFL Quarterback Prop Bets for the 2012 NFL regular season:

Drew Brees, Saints
Odds of Leading the NFL in Passing Yards in 2012: +450
Over/Under on Total Passing Yards in 2012: 4500
Over/Under on Total Passing TDs in 2012: 37.5
Over/Under on Total Interceptions in 2012: 15.5

Tom Brady, Patriots
Odds of Leading the NFL in Passing Yards in 2012: +475
Over/Under on Total Passing Yards in 2012: 4500
Over/Under on Total Passing TDs in 2012: 34.5
Over/Under on Total Interceptions in 2012: 12

Fantasy Football: Overrated/Underrated

Let’s take a look at some of the overrated and underrated players for the 2012 fantasy football season.

UNDERRATED: Jay Cutler, QB, Bears

Cutler was on his way to an outstanding season last year before he was hurt. The Bears added his football soulmate Brandon Marshall, second-round draft pick Alshon Jeffery and Michael Bush. No more Mike Martz either. Cutler will be undervalued in your draft. I expect over 30 TD passes with close to 4,000 yards passing.

UNDERRATED: Brandon Marshall, WR, Bears

People will look at Marshall’s low TD total over the last two season (6, 3) and his off-field woes, but reuniting with Cutler will be the best thing that ever happened to him as a football player. They both gush about their special connection and Marshall has looked nothing short of spectacular in preseason. Expect Denver numbers: 100 catches, 1,200 yards and 10 TDs.
