NCAA College Football Team Rankings 29th November 2010

1. Oregon Ducks (11-0) – The nation’s top ranked team stayed unbeaten on Friday with a 19 point win over Arizona. The Ducks are now just a win over rival Oregon State away from a national title game appearance.

2. Auburn Tigers (12-0) – The comeback over rival Alabama was one of the ages. Cam Newton punched his Heisman ticket with the win. Now the Tigers need a win over South Carolina to get a shot at the national championship.

3. Wisconsin Badgers (11-1) – The Badgers just keep pouring it on people. This week, Wisconsin scored 70 points in routing Northwestern. Wisconsin will head to the Rose Bowl.

4. Texas Christian University (12-0) – The Horned Frogs beat up on hapless New Mexico; 66-17. With the win, and the Boise State loss, they will play in a BCS game; most likely the Rose Bowl, against Wisconsin.

5. Ohio State Buckeyes (11-1) – Ohio State beat Michigan by the largest amount in over 50 years. The win pushed the Buckeyes into a three way tie for the Big Ten title. Ohio State will not play in the Rose Bowl, but will get into a BCS bowl game elsewhere.

6. Stanford Cardinals (11-1) – Stanford beat Arizona State to pick up their 11th win of the season. The Cardinals finished second place in the Pac-Ten, only behind Oregon.

7. Michigan State Spartans (11-1) – The win for Michigan State was one of their biggest in school history. The win allowed the Spartans to tie for the Big Ten regular season title.

8. Arkansas Razorbacks (10-2) – Arkansas, with the win over LSU, most likely pushed them into a BCS bowl game. Ryan Mallett continues to show his impressive right arm.

9. Virginia Tech Hokies (10-2) – The Hokies won their 10th straight game on Saturday over rival Virginia. Now the Hokies will take on Florida State in the Atlantic Coast Conference title game this weekend.

10. Oklahoma Sooners (10-2) – The Sooners needed a win, and they got it. Oklahoma survived a wild 4th quarter to down Oklahoma State. Oklahoma will take on Nebraska Saturday in the Big 12 title game.

11. Oklahoma State Cowboys (10-2) – Tied heading into the fourth quarter, the Cowboys could not slow down Landry Jones. The loss for Oklahoma State meant they will not get a chance to play in the Big 12 title game.

12. Nevada Wolf Pack (11-1) – The Wolf Pack picked up the biggest win of the weekend; over Boise State. The win for Nevada put them and Hawaii into a position to tie for the Western Athletic Conference title.

13. Boise State Broncos (10-1) – Very rare to see the Broncos not make the fundamental play. Two straight missed kicks costs the Broncos a chance at another BCS bowl.

14. LSU Tigers (10-2) – Les Miles and the Tigers also lost a shot at a BCS game; dropping an eight point decision to Arkansas.

15. Alabama Crimson Tide (9-3) – The defending national champions lost a 24-0 lead to their bitter rival Auburn on Saturday. Even worse news, quarterback Greg McElroy appears to have sustained a concussion late in the game.

16. Texas A&M Aggies (9-3) – The Aggies were victorious on Thanksgiving night to earn their 9th win of the season. Even more important, Texas A&M kept Texas out of a bowl game appearance.

17. Nebraska Cornhuskers (10-2) – The Cornhuskers took care of business; blasting Colorado on Friday. Nebraska will now take on the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday in the Big 12 title game.

18. Missouri Tigers (10-2) – The Tigers finished the regular season with 10 wins. On Saturday, they blasted rival Kansas.

19. South Carolina Gamecocks (9-3) – For the second straight year, the Gamecocks hold a win over Clemson. Now the Gamecocks will look for win #10 in the SEC title game against Auburn on Saturday.

20. Northern Illinois Huskies (10-2) – The Huskies poured in 70+ against Eastern Michigan. The win was their ninth straight. They will look to make it 10 in a row on Friday night in the MAC title game against Miami (OH).

21. West Virginia Mountaineers (8-3) – The Mountaineers kept their Big East title hopes alive with a wipe-out of Pittsburgh. West Virginia needs a win and a Connecticut loss to win the conference.

22. Florida State Seminoles (9-3) – Florida State not only beat rival Florida, but also saw North Carolina State fall. With their loss, Jimbo Fisher and the Seminoles will play Saturday against Virginia Tech in the ACC title game.
