Kyle Orton Trade To Miami Dolphins Dead After Matt Moore Signing

The Miami Dolphins are in a tough spot right now as they have been in desperate need of a veteran quarterback to get this offense going. Over the past few years, the Dolphins haven’t had too much trouble on the offensive side of the football in terms of the running game with Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams, but the passing game has been awful and in need of some new blood.

Once the NFL lockout was over and the Miami Dolphins could look for the quarterback they needed the struggling NFL franchise targeted Kyle Orton of the Denver Broncos. With Tim Tebow being the future face of the franchise and the projected starter in the Mile High City, the Denver Broncos have been looking to trade Kyle Orton while his value is still high and the Miami Dolphins were very interested.

Unfortunately, John Elway wasn’t having it as he didn’t like what the Dolphins had to offer in return and basically put the deal on hold. Well, with teams in the NFL not having much time to make moves before next season the Dolphins didn’t want to wait and chose to sign Matt Moore formerly of the Carolina Panthers instead.

In my opinion, this was a pretty good move as Matt Moore can get the job done if he is given the right players around him. The new quarterback will have to compete with Chad Henne for the starting job, but he might surprise some people with Pro Bowl wide receiver Brandon Marshall and pass-catching running back Reggie Bush at his disposal.
