Heinz Field Break-In: Three Arrested

Police arrested three men early Sunday morning who allegedly broke into Heinz Field, home of the Pittsburgh Steelers.  Were the culprits terrorists or drunk wedding guests — or both? You make the call!

There’s fun video of one of the guys, and mugshots!  Sgt. Patrick Knepp of the Pittsburgh Police’s Zone 1 station said the men “used themselves like human ladders” to get into the stadium.

Here’s what one of the arrested guys has to say in his defense, starting with a Saturday Heinz Field wedding (people get so creative now that there are all those TLC shows):

The wedding was amazing. Unfortunately, it was raining all day. So, instead of having the wedding on the field, it was in a tent on the concrete. So, we never actually got to go on the field. So, we were up late and started walking around … Me and two other friends, we saw the stadium. We could see the field … We found a place where we could sneak under the gate. We slipped under that gate. We didn’t plan on doing anything. We thought it was totally harmless. We were wrong.

Sgt. Knepp says Pittsburgh police have notified the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security about the incident, perhaps because of the three men’s names:

  • Shazad Hosi Mehta, 28, of Elmhurst, Ill.
  • Adil A. Minocherhomjee, 22, of La Jolla, Calif.
  • Neville Noshir Medhora, 27, of Austin, Texas
