Elite Eight: Kansas (1) vs. VCU (11)

Southwest Region: Kansas Jayhawks (1) vs. VCU Rams (11) Sun. March 27, 2011 2:20 p.m. EST

There is no doubt that the Kansas Jayhawks (1) are the only number one seed in the 2011 NCAA Tournament that have had a relatively easy path to the Final Four. Throughout the entire tournament so far, the Kansas Jayhawks (1) have only faced one single digit seed in the Illinois Fighting Illini (9). Before and after that, the Jayhawks have had it pretty easy against the likes of the Boston Terriers (16), Richmond Spiders (12) and now VCU Rams (11).

Ironically enough, the Kansas Jayhawks (1) are the one team in the 2011 NCAA Tournament that would love to stay away from the lower seeds as last season they were knocked out of the tournament by Northern Iowa. With that upset being devastating to say the least, the Jayhawks still have the loss fresh in their minds and will do once again against the Rams.

No matter who they have faced in the 2011 NCAA Tourament, the VCU Rams (11) have been able to prevail and make it all the way to the Elite Eight. This time around they may have a little bit more than they can handle against the Kansas Jayhawks (1) in the Elite Eight.

As of right now, the Jayhawks are favored to come out on top and advance to the Final Four with an -11.5 point spread.
