Date: Wednesday June 23rd, 2010

Time: 8:10 pm EST

Preview: Two of baseball’s hottest teams will square off in the middle game of a three game series at US Cellular Field. The Atlanta Braves have won five straight to take a 2.5 game lead over the New York Mets at the top of the National League East. The Braves rank 9th in baseball with a .264 batting average, but have been carried by a comeback season from first base men Troy Glaus. The former Cardinals third base men has knocked 14 homeruns and pounded 55 runs batted in. Atlanta has also seen sensational pitching, ranked 6th in all of baseball with a 3.71 earned run average. One of the starting pitchers for Atlanta who has been sharp has been veteran Tim Hudson. Hudson will put his 7-2 record on the line in this one against the White Sox. The 34 year old is coming off a 7 inning win over the Tampa Bay Rays on June 17th.

Chicago has won six straight and nine of their last ten. In third place within the American League Central, the White Sox are 5.5 games behind the Minnesota Twins. The White Sox will counter with their staff ace, left hander Mark Buerhle. The 31 year old from Missouri has struggled at times this season, with a 5-6 record and a 4.71 earned run average. Buerhle has won his last start starts; at Wrigley Field against the Cubs, and at Pittsburgh.

Our prediction for this one: the home team stays hot, as Buerhle continues to pitch well. White Sox 5-3. Place your bet now at
