2011 NCAA Tournament: Ohio State (1) vs. George Mason (8)

East Region: Ohio State Buckeyes (1) vs. George Mason Patriots (8) Sun. March 20, 2011 5:15 p.m. EST

The Ohio State Buckeyes (1) could quite possibly be the team to beat in this 2011 NCAA Tournament as they have arguably the best all around team of any other number one seed in the tournament. Yes, the defending NCAA champion Duke Blue Devils (1)  just destroyed their first opponent in the Hampton Pirates 87-45, but the Buckeyes did just as good defensively by holding the Roadrunners to just 47 points in their first win.

Obviously, from here on out the competition is just going to get better and better with every passing round all the way up to the National Championship, but the Ohio State Buckeyes might be tested early against the up and coming George Mason Patriots (8).

With an impressive win over the Villanova Wildcats, in which they were projected to lose by almost everyone, the George Mason Patriots (8) proved that they might have one more historic run left in them as they could give the big boys a run for their money.

As of right now, the Ohio State Buckeyes (1) are favored to come out on top in this third round matchup with a -11 point spread. This is a bit high against a team that has a reputation for pulling off unlikely upsets, but the Buckeyes should still get the win and advance to the Sweet Sixteen.
