2011 NCAA Tournament: Kentucky (4) vs. Princeton (13)

East Region: Kentucky Wildcats (4) vs. Princeton  (13) Tigers Thurs. March 17, 2011 7:27 p.m. EST

Last year the Kentucky Wildcats were arguably the most talented young team in the college basketball with NBA bound players like John Wall (Washington Wizards), DeMarcus Cousins (Sacramento Kings), Eric Bledsoe (Los Angeles Clippers), Daniel Orton (Orlando Magic) and Patrick Patterson (Houston Rockets). Even though the Wildcats are nowhere near as talented as a whole like they were in last year’s NCAA Tournament, Kentucky has come into the 2011 NCAA Tournament with the four seed in the East Region and a legitimate shot of going the distance in the Big Dance.

In their first matchup of the 2011 NCAA Tournament, the Kentucky Wildcats (4) will go head-to-head against the Princeton Tigers (13). As there always is during March Madness, there is a slight chance of an upset here as John Calipari’s Wildcats could get a run for their money against the Tigers, but in all likelihood Kentucky should cruise to victory with relative ease as and outmatched Princeton team.

As of right now, the Kentucky Wildcats (4) are heavily favored to come out on top in this first round matchup against the Princeton Tigers (13) with a -13 point spread. Even though that spread is extremely high for a game in a tournament where anything can happen, I believe Kentucky has the potential to cover this enormous spread.
