2011 NCAA National Championship: UConn (3) vs. Butler (8)

2011 NCAA National Championship: UConn Huskies (3) vs. Butler Bulldogs (8) Mon. April 4, 2011 9:23 p.m. EST

The Final Four is officially in the books as both the VCU Rams and the Kentucky Wildcats have been sent packing after what was an amazing run throughout the 2011 NCAA Tournament. Even though the best matchup left has already come and gone with the Kentucky Wildcats taking on the UConn Huskies, the NCAA National Championship game could be a surprisingly good one as the Butler Bulldogs (8) will look to cap off yet another Cinderella season with a NCAA title.

The consensus coming into this NCAA title game is that the UConn Huskies (3) are the better all-around squad hands down. There is no question that the Butler Bulldogs (8) will have no answer for Kemba Walker or Jeremy Lamb for that matter and will simply be outmatched. Even though that is the consensus, the fact is that the Bulldogs have able to defy the odds with every single game and will try to do so yet again against arguably the best player (Kemba Walker) and team in the country.

In my opinion, I really can’t see any way that the Butler Bulldogs (8) get the best of Kemba Walker and company on Monday night in Houston, Texas, but the only way they do have a chance is by taking Walker out of the game completely. If they can figure out a way to contain Walker, they might be able to pull off the upset, but if not they will be going home empty handed for the second year in a row.
