Pro wrestling legend and sometime TV star Hulk Hogan has been dumped the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) due to some bad language he used almost a decade ago. Hogan used a racial slur and it was caught on tape and now he’s paying for it. Hogan has since apologized for the remarks, but the WWE has apparently cut all ties with him and no longer sells Hulk Hogan merchandise etc.

Hogan, whose birth name is Terry Bollea, has been backed by several notable people such as former world heavyweight boxing George Foreman, who said Hogan made a mistake by the choice of words he used, but he’s not a racist. Former NBA star Dennis Rodman also came out publicly and said the same thing.

The WWE released a statement to the media regarding the situation, which said, “WWE terminated its contract with Terry Bollea (aka Hulk Hogan). WWE is committed to embracing and celebrating individuals from all backgrounds as demonstrated by the diversity of our employees, performers and fans worldwide.”

However, the organization didn’t give the reason for sacking the 61-year-old Hogan. The WWE didn’t waste any time in severing times with him though as videos of Hogan’s past bouts were quickly taken down from the organization’s website in the “superstar” category and he’s been fired from his position as a judge on the WWE reality TV show known as Tough Enough.

According to press reports in the U.S., Hogan appeared in some sort of sex tape and used a racial slur when speaking about his daughter, who was dating an African-American man at the time. After the tape suddenly became public and Hogan found out he was dropped by the WWE he took to his Twitter account and wrote, “In the storm I release control, God and his Universe will sail me where he wants me to be, one love. HH”

When apologizing for the comments, Hogan remarked that he had used offensive language during a taped conversation and it was unacceptable to do so. He added that there’s no excuse for his behaviour and he’s sorry for doing it. Some reports state that Hogan resigned when news of the old tape was made public, and others said he was let go. Either way, Hogan is no longer associated with the WWE.
