Preview: The Fall Classic will get underway Wednesday in the bay. The Texas Rangers, winners of the American League will take on the National League Champion San Francisco Giants. The Rangers are coming off taking down the top two giants in the American League; beating Tampa Bay in five and then downing the Yankees in six. Texas ranked first in the regular season with a .276 batting average, led by MVP candidate Josh Hamilton. The outfielder hit .359 and blasted 32 homeruns on the season. Hamilton was named the American League Championship Series MVP, blasting four homeruns in the series against the Yankees. The Rangers will send lefthander Cliff Lee to the mound. Lee has been unbelievable in the postseason winning all three of his starts. After throwing 16 innings against Tampa Bay, allowing just 11 hits and 2 runs, Lee also threw 8 innings against the Yankees, allowing just 2 hits in the 8-0 shut-out win. During the regular season, Lee finished with a 12-9 record and a 3.18 earned run average. The 32 year old will be a free agent when the season ends, so he is pitching for his next contract.

For San Francisco, they will counter with a left hander as well, Tim Lincecum. After finishing the regular season 16-10, Lincecum went 2-1 in the postseason. In the series against Atlanta, he threw a two hit shut-out. Then, against the Phillies, Lincecum won the game one start, then lost in game five. In 23 innings pitched in the postseason, Lincecum has struck out 30 batters. The Giants, who had a complete make over from the start of the season have seen Aubrey Huff and Cody Russ lead the offense throughout the postseason.
My Betting Picks: In a heck of a World Series game the Texas Rangers go on the road and beat the Giants 3-2.
