Which 3-0 Teams Will Lose in Week Four?

We’re only three weeks into the 2011 NFL season, and there are only three undefeated teams left in the entire league. If you knew that two of them were going to be the Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions, you are a bad liar or seriously deranged. The third, the Green Bay Packers, are surprising only in showing few signs of a Super Bowl hangover. So which of these three will make it to 4-0?

The Packers certainly seem like the biggest lock as 13-point favorites at home against the 1-2 Denver Broncos. Sure the Packers trailed early on the road against Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers, but even Tim Tebow probably can’t miraculously guide the Broncos to a win at Lambeau.  I’d be much less surprised to see the Packers win by four touchdowns than to lose this week.

The Lions have the toughest assignment, visiting the 2-1 Dallas Cowboys as one-point underdogs. The Lions got beat up in the first half against the Vikings before rallying to win, so they can’t afford another slow start against the Cowboys. Actually there best strategy might be to let the Cowboys lead for most of the fourth quarter, since that’s how the Jets beat them in Week 1, while Dallas rallied late to win the last two weeks. Really, Dallas could easily be 3-0 or 0-3, so a Lions win, even a big Lions win this week wouldn’t be a total shock, but the Cowboys probably pull out another ugly win this week.

Then there’s the Buffalo Bills who shocked the Patriots last week after rallying to beat the Raiders at home the previous week. They’re three-point favorites against the pretty awful 1-2 Cincinnati Bengals. A letdown from the Bills seems likely, but it’ll probably just mean trailing for part of the game before another late-ish rally to beat this tame Bengals squad.
