1. Indianapolis Colts. (-1) Look who took over the #1 spot this week. Right up until the final minutes of Sunday night’s anticipated matchup against the New England Patriots, it seemed like the Colts’ perfect season was over. But thanks in part to a blown call by Bill Belichick and a nice arrow from Manning to Wayne, they pulled it off with a 35-34 victory to stay undefeated and skip ahead of the Saints in the rankings. Bring on Baltimore.
2. New Orleans Saints. (-11) For the fourth straight game, the Saints struggled for a win. However, they still haven’t lost. They’re headed into Week 11 to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who did manage to beat the Green Bay Packers a couple weeks ago. In all seriousness, this should be another victory for New Orleans.
3. Minnesota Vikings. (-11) The Vikings are playing really well this season. Not only do they have a fantastic running game with Adrian Peterson (pretty sure he’s an alien) but Brett Favre is able to hit a number of receivers all over the field. They struggled here and there with the Detroit Lions last week, but came out on top with a 27-10 win. Next week’s matchup against the Seattle Seahawks should be fun to watch.
4. Cincinnati Bengals. (-9.5) Are the Bengals for real? Apparently. Elite? Umm, yep. Get used to it, cause they’re just one win away from sweeping their division schedule. One more win against the Browns would not only mean an AFC North Championship, but a first round bye in the playoffs. Holy crap. If Cedric Benson isn’t back in time from his hip injury to make a difference against the Raiders this week, new Bengal Larry Johnson will be around as well as Bernard Scott.
5. New England Patriots. (-10.5) The Patriots totally blew it Sunday night in their last-minutes loss to the Colts, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be a factor come playoff time. Look for a Pats home victory this week over the New York Jets.
6. Pittsburgh Steelers. (-10) After losing to Cincy not once but twice this season, they’re two games back in the AFC North. However, they should be able to put together a strong offensive front against the Chiefs this week.
7. Dallas Cowboys. (-11) Coming off an embarrassing loss to the Packers last week where they were just about to be shutout until the final 38 seconds of the game, the Cowboys will look to bounce back at home against the Washington Redskins.
8. San Diego Chargers. The Chargers should be able to get a win out of the Broncos if Kyle Orton doesn’t play this week, and take back the AFC West. When the extent of his ankle injury is known, the line should appear.
9. Arizona Cardinals. (-9) The Cardinals are favorites over the St. Louis Rams this weekend after back-to-back victories. Look for win #7 for AZ this week.
10. Denver Broncos. Hey Kyle Orton, how’s that ankle? With an almost guaranteed loss for Denver with Chris Simms at the helm, look for a new #10 spot next week. The Broncos remain in the Top 10 because they’re pretty much the best of the worst after unraveling from a great start. Besides, there are seven teams tied at 5-4.
