Vikings Vs. AFC In Pro Bowl

The Minnesota Vikings have hogged many of the NFC Pro Bowl selections this year, with eight players selected, including Brett Favre.

This will mark the 11th appearance for Favre, who has once again broken an NFL record: this time as the only quarterback to have been to 10 All-Star games. The 40-year-old quarterback will play second fiddle to New Orleans Saints’ Drew Brees, the NFL’s top-rated passer. Favre’s successor, Aaron Rodgers, is the other NFC QB.

But will he even get a shot at playing this year? Vikings fans sure hope not, since no players contending for the title will be enjoying the Miami heat, set for the Sunday before Super Bowl XLIV.

Speaking of delusional Super Bowl dreams, Chad Ochocinco tweeted Tuesday, “Just been informed myself nor any of my teammates made the Pro Bowl-bengal fans we wouldn’t be abe to play in it anyway! SUPER BOWL BABY!!!”

Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, the league’s top scorer among players who aren’t kickers, will be in the NFC backfield. Wide receiver Sidney Rice, defensive end Jared Allen, guard Steve Hutchinson, defensive tackle Kevin Williams, special teams guy Heath Farwell, and tackle Bryant McKinnie also got the call.

The Vikes, who dropped to seventh in our NFL Betting Power Rankings this week, are a 9-point favorite over the New York Giants at Mall of America Field this Sunday.
