A few months back Stephen Colbert and his Comedy Central show began sponsoring the US Olympic speedskating team.  Now Colbert is taking a more direct role, and has actually become a member of the team.  His official title: Assistant Sports Psychologist.

On Monday’s show, Colbert accepted his new role and compared it to the Grammy he won the night before.  He also gave a brief history of sports psychology, which he said began with 72 years ago with the Chicago Cubs, and then played a vital role in the Oakland A’s championship years in the late 80′s.
