Tracy McGrady is contemplating retirement

This season marked the official end of Tracy McGrady as a superstar in this league as the Houston Rockets finally became tired of seeing their face of the franchise on the bench instead of on the floor.

As a result of the Houston Rockets finally deciding to move on and part ways with one of the most popular players in franchise history, Tracy McGrady was sent packing the New York Knicks where he was able to become a starter once again.

Unfortunately, the injuries continued for McGrady in New York as he still missed five games in the second half of the season and was unable to reclaim his All-Star caliber play.

Even though Tracy McGrady’s short time with the New York Knicks is short enough to not make a judgment on the two-time scoring champ’s future, the former Houston Rockets superstar has been considering retirement if he can’t get back to the player he used to be.

“If I could go through another offseason of working my [butt] off, and I don’t feel I’m getting any better, I can’t see myself coming back playing the way I’m playing right now. I just don’t see it happening.”—Tracy McGrady

Those are some pretty depressing words from a player that used to be one of the best scorers in the league, but the reality seems to be sinking in for McGrady and I get the distinct feeling that if the New York Knicks do not want him back this summer or workouts during the summer don’t go as well, the former All-Star will call it quits.

Personally, I believe he still has some years left in him and if he can still with the Knicks and they can bring in some other big names like LeBron James, Chris Bosh or Amare Stoudemire that T-Mac’s career could quickly turn around at just the right time.

It still remains to be seen what Tracy McGrady will do, but I am betting he stick it through and give it one more go around.
