Former Colts head honcho and current NBC Sports talking head Tony Dungy climbed out on a not-so high limb yesterday and pretty much declared his previous employers the winners of Super Bowl XLIV, even though the game won’t be played for another four days.
“I would be absolutely shocked (if the Colts lose Sunday),” Dungy said. “They haven’t lost a game yet this year that they were trying to win.”
He’s right about that last part, but “shocked” is a tad too strong a word to be throwing around. The Saints aren’t exactly a bunch of one-legged glue-sniffing chumps. The bayou boys have won 15 games and have the hottest quarterback not named Peyton Manning driving the bus.
Personally, I like Indy in this matchup, but I wont be shocked if N’awlins comes out on top. Here are five things that would shock me, just to put matters in perspective:
5) Scarlett Johansson leaves Ryan Reynolds for me.
4) Dogs begin walking and talking as if they were human.
3) Meeting an elected official who has never once lied.
2) James Cameron saying something humble.
1) Discovering that carrots are in fact aliens.
I must give Dungy credit though. He has that whole analyst hyperbole trait down cold.

He has a point, if you look at the Saints Strength of Schedule for the season it was 32nd while the Colts were 12th, Also the playoff game the against the Vikes, the Saints were outplayed in every aspect, the Vikings lost the game more than the Saints won it. If by some fluke the Saints do upset the Colts, the Saints would rank as the weakest Superbowl Champion in recent memory
