Taylor Mays 40 Time Impressives at the NFL Combine

Every single season in the NFL all the draft prospects usually attend the NFL combine which puts lead the best young football athletes in the country through a series of tests to measure their skills on a series of levels, but perhaps the one test that gets the most attention is the 40 yard dash.

Unfortunately, the 40 yard dash time of certain athletes in this NFL combine can be devastating and really change their draft status in the upcoming NFL draft, but sometimes a complete opposite happens in the 40  time of a certain athlete can really catch the attention of NFL scouts and change the draft status for a certain player.

This time around that certain player might be USC safety Taylor Mays who was thought to have run an unbelievable 40 yard dash time of 4.24 seconds, which would’ve been the fastest time ever recorded at NFL combine since they started to keep track.

Despite the early reports of this incredibly fast 40 time for Taylor Mays, 4.24 wasn’t actually his time instead it was 4.43, which is still pretty fast but doesn’t have the same ring to it as 4.24 did.

At 230 pounds, Taylor Mays has gotten some questions about whether or not he could actually play linebacker instead of safety in the NFL and with what new head coach of the Seattle Seahawks Pete Carroll is saying about his former safety at USC is that his physical attributes and skills will WOW people on the NFL level.

Apparently, the Seattle Seahawks are interested in drafting the former USC safety and after seeing what he did in the NFL combine Pete Carroll will probably not have to convince anybody else on the Seahawks that Mays is there guy come draft time.

Despite having an impressive showing at the NFL combine, Taylor Mays didn’t have the most notable of performances at the Senior bowl in Alabama this past month was actually hurt his draft status, but that may have motivated the safety step up his game in preparation for the NFL combine.
