Super Bowl XLVI: First Touchdown Odds: Gronkowski Slight Favorite

Last year, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson scored the first touchdown of Super Bowl XLV. Who’ll score the first touchdown in this year’s Super Bowl? Vegas oddsmakers have tabbed New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski as the player most likely to find the end zone first in Super Bowl XLVI, followed closely by another Patriots tight end, Aaron Hernandez.

The best bet on the Giants to score the game’s first touchdown is wide receiver Victor Cruz. The odds of their not being any touchdowns scored is at 150/1 — quite a longshot considering there’s never been a touchdown-less Super Bowl, and only one team in history has failed to score a touchdown in the Big Game.  Personally, I’d lean towards taking the field at 8/1 as that would cover all defensive and special teams players.

Here are your Super Bowl XLVI First Touchdown Odds:

  • TE Rob Gronkowski NE 6/1
  • TE Aaron Hernandez NE 7/1
  • RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis NE 15/2
  • WR Victor Cruz NYG 15/2
  • RB Ahmad Bradshaw NYG 8/1
  • WR Hakeem Nicks NYG 8/1
  • WR Wes Welker NE 8/1
  • RB Brandon Jacobs NYG 12/1
  • WR Mario Manningham NYG 12/1
  • WR Deion Branch NE 15/1
  • RB Danny Woodhead NE 20/1
  • TE Jake Ballard NYG 20/1
  • WR Chad Ochocinco NE 25/1
  • QB Tom Brady NE 25/1
  • RB Stevan Ridley NE 30/1
  • QB Eli Manning NYG 35/1
  • WR Julian Edelman NE 35/1
  • TE Travis Beckum NYG 35/1
  • TE Bear Pascoe NYG 40/1
  • RB D.J. Ware NYG 50/1
  • Field 8/1
  • No touchdowns scored in the game 150/1
