Soccer betting action on Tuesday, and we’ll take a look at the opening leg of the Champions League quarterfinals as Bayern Munich hosts Manchester United.  This game is being held at the Allianz Arena in Munich and will start at 11:45 PM Pacific/2:45 PM Eastern.  Big week for Man U as they’re trying to win the English Premier League and lead Chelsea by 1 game in the standings.  So they’ve got this game today, a home matchup against Chelsea at Old Trafford this weekend and then the second leg of the Champions League quarters with Bayern Munich traveling to England.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE–MANCHESTER UNITED VS. BAYERN MUNICH:

Man U superstar striker Wayne Rooney sat out last weekend’s game against Bolton with a foot injury.  They didn’t need him, beating Bolton 4-0 and he’s traveled to Germany with the team and is expected to start.  Rooney has been nearly unstoppable this year, and his return is crucial to Man U’s fortunes.  The team is currently on a 7 game winning streak in all games with three straight wins in Champions League play.  They’ve also won six straight on the road in European Cup competition. They’ve also played well on the road in the Premier League, and have the best away record in the circuit.

Bayern Munich is currently in 2nd place in Germany’s Bundesliga, but they’ve lost two straight games with the most recent defeat a home upset to VfB Stuttgart.  They’ve lost 3 of 5 overall and only have one win in the regulation 90 minutes in their last five in all games.  In Champions League play they’re 2-1-1 at home this year, with 3 goals for and 3 goals against.
