The 2010-2011 NBA regular season will finally get underway tonight and there are some highly anticipated matchups between some of the league’s projected best teams.

The one matchup that everyone will be looking forward to on opening night will be the revamped Miami Heat led by LeBron James and Dwyane Wade taking on the new and improved fantastic five of the Boston Celtics. Even though all eyes will be on how Wade, LeBron and Chris Bosh play together on this new super team created by NBA legend Pat Riley, the Boston Celtics will also be making an impression as they will have their same team intact with the addition of two bigmen in Jermaine and Shaquille O’Neal.

Last season the Boston Celtics biggest problem in the playoffs and in the NBA Finals against the eventual NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers was their lack of size and length, but this season they have addressed those problems and will look to put that on display in their first game of the season against the Miami Heat.

One of the biggest questions that has been asked before the NBA regular season has been who will start at the center position for the Boston Celtics, but now the verdict is in as head coach Doc Rivers has decided to give Shaquille O’Neal be his starter in the paint against Chris Bosh and the Miami Heat frontcourt.

Not only will this game be interesting to see how these two Eastern Conference heavyweights play to start the season, but a win for either team should set the mood and the momentum moving forward as everyone will expect the Miami Heat to come out on top as they will be shooting for the Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls record of 72-10 this season, but I believe the Boston Celtics will be the team to start the season 1-0 just like they did last season against LeBron James Cleveland Cavaliers.
