Seattle Seahawks QB: Matt Hasselback or Matt Leinart?

Last season the Seattle Seahawks were able to get into the playoffs by being on the wrong side of history. As the first team to make the playoffs with a losing record the Seahawks made NFL history, but despite being a joke headed into the Wildcard game with the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints, Seattle keep their foot on the gas pedal.

After beating the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints when no one saw it coming, the Seattle Seahawks made headlines and got everyone talking about Pete Carroll’s squad and their chances to be a contender in the near future. Despite losing to the Chicago Bears in the next round, the Seattle Seahawks seemed to have a promising future in the Pete Carroll era.

In a bold move, Carroll brought in former USC wide receiver Mike Williams and he gradually turned into the team’s best option downfield. This year Carroll might look to make a similar move with two former USC standouts with running back Reggie Bush and/or quarterback Matt Leinart.

As of right now, Matt Hasselback is the starting quarterback in Seattle, but with the veteran QB being a free agent he might decide to go elsewhere or the Seahawks could make the decision to go in another direction. Personally, I believe Hasselback is done as a Pro Bowl caliber quarterback in this league and the Seahawks need to cut their losses.

With that being said, the Seattle Seahawks should take a risk by giving Matt Leinart another shot at being a starter in this league. With Mike Williams as his favorite target, Reggie Bush potentially coming out of the backfield and Pete Carroll calling the shots it will be a USC reunion and perhaps just what Matt Leinart needs to be a dominant quarterback in this league.
