Saints Stay Perfect With Rally Over Dolphins

April 1, Comedy Central is born.

May 25, the Pittsburgh Penguins defeat the Minnesota North Stars 8–0 in Game 6 to win their very first Stanley Cup.

August 13, Super Nintendo is released in the United States.

The year was 1991, and it was last time the New Orleans Saints got off to this great of a start. Falling behind for the first time this season, the unbeaten Saints overcame a 21-point deficit to beat the Miami Dolphins 46-34  Sunday.

After three interceptions, a lost fumble and five sacks, Drew Brees (22-38, 298 yds) led the NFL’s highest-scoring team in what turned out to be a 22-point fourth quarter. The league’s leading passer marched touchdown drives of 82, 79 and 60 yards on subsequent possessions in the second half to pull ahead, throwing for one touchdown and scoring twice. Three minutes, three touchdowns.

Cornerback Tracy Porter returned a 54-yard interception to seal the deal for the 6-0 Saints, who are now the only unbeaten team in the NFC.

Meanwhile, the 2-4 Dolphins fell 2 1/2 games behind AFC East-leading New England Patriots.

“This was our game to win,” said Dolphins running back Ricky Williams, who tied a career high with three rushing touchdowns. “We fought and we fought. They just fought harder at the end.”
