The Pittsburgh Penguins, despite not having top goal scorer Sidney Crosby were able to tip the Boston Bruins on Saturday. Pittsburgh scored a goal in each period to come away with a 3-2 road win.
Jordan Staal scored 3:25 into the third period to give Pittsburgh a lead. Goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 44 of 46 shots. The win for Fleury was his 20th of the season. Chris Kunitz and Pascal Dupuis scored the other two goals for the Penguins.
Boston, in the loss got goals from Dennis Seidenberg and Micheal Ryder. The Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask saved 33 shots in the loss.
The win for Pittsburgh pushed them to 28-14-4 overall. Their 60 points is second best to Philadelphia out of the Eastern Conference. The Penguins will host the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday. Boston, in the loss dropped to 24-13-7. The Bruins are in first place in their division, with 55 points. Boston will host Carolina on Monday.
