Anaheim’s top line combines for six goals and 11 points Sunday night as the Ducks soared to a 6-2 win over the Minnesota Wild on home ice. Corey Perry led the way with his first career hat trick, including his first career penalty shot goal to break the game open in the second period. Perry also added two assists on goals by linemates Ryan Getzlaf and Bobby Ryan.

In addition to the hat trick, 25-year-old Perry needed five stitches in his right cheek after taking a high stick from Minnesota’s Nick Schultz in the second period. “I look like a chipmunk, but it’s not too bad,” Perry said. As for his first hat trick in his 401st NHL game, Perry was happy but thought he was perhaps overdue. “It’s pretty cool,” said the young forward. “It’s been a long time coming.”

Perry scored the game’s first goal just 19 seconds in. He drew the penalty shot while killing a power play in the second period, then added the game’s final goal with 4:23 remaining in the contest. Ryan Getzlaf scored his second goal of the night and 10th of the season on a 5-on-3 power play in the second. Perry now has 16 goals on the season. Bobby Ryan got his 14th goal of the year late in the second period to give Anaheim a 5-2 lead.

The Ducks (16-13-4) are now tied with the Dallas Stars (17-10-2) for most points in the Pacific Division, but have played four more games. Anaheim is now fourth overall in the Western Conference. The Wild fell to 13-12-4, third in the Northwest Division and 13th in the Western Conference.
