Coming into the Eastern Conference Finals, the Orlando Magic had high hopes of reaching the NBA Finals for the second straight season as they were favored to beat the Boston Celtics in convincing fashion. Even though Dwight Howard and company were thought to come out on top in this series and dominate the Boston Celtics with their high powered offense, Doc Rivers’ squad has been able to completely shutdown the potent Orlando Magic and headed into game four with 3-0 lead.

Usually, when a team facing elimination in the playoffs, they are much more motivated and come out with a never say die attitude. Despite this being the case in most NBA playoff series, the consensus was that the Celtics would dominate the Magic once again and easily advance to the NBA Finals.

Unfortunately for Kevin Garnett and company, that wasn’t the case as the Orlando Magic came out in game four on a mission to prove that they could still get back into this series and they did just that.

Throughout the first three games of the Eastern Conference Finals, the two-time Defensive Player of the Year Dwight Howard has basically been a non-factor, especially on the offensive end of the basketball floor. Even though Howard really struggled to find himself on the offensive side of the basketball floor in this series, game four was another story altogether as Superman finally remembered how to fly.

Not only did Dwight Howard have an impressive performance in game four with 32 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks, but point guard Jameer Nelson also had a notable performance with 23 points, nine assists and two big threes in overtime to seal the deal.

Despite the Boston Celtics not playing up to their potential in this game, Paul Pierce and company still threatened to come back and win this game as they kept rallying back from behind to tie the game up and ultimately sent the game into overtime.

Even though the Celtics came on strong in fourth quarter, overtime was a different story as Boston looked noticeably tired and had nothing left in the tank.

As a result, the Orlando Magic were finally able to get on the board in this series as they won game four 96-92 and will head into game five in Orlando with some much needed momentum.
