If you needed further proof the Pro Bowl isn’t taken very seriously, well here it is: publicity hound/wide receiver Chad Ochocinco says he hopes to kick in Sunday night’s game. Evidently 85 has been practicing his footie skills all week and is bugging coaches to let him showcase his abilities. Here’s what Chad had to say:
“Yesterday was punting, today was kickoffs, tomorrow will be field goals,” Ochocinco said of his lobbying effort. “I don’t know. We’ll see what happens.”
Of course, this wouldn’t be the first time the mad Mexican has booted the ball on gameday. I’m sure you all remember this from preseason last year (video after the jump):
His form is impeccable. Hey, anything to make the Pro Bowl more watchable is a-okay with me. Rumor has it Browns offensive lineman Joe Thomas wants to play quarterback, and Cowboys defensive tackle Jay Ratliff is pushing hard to see time at tailback. Now that’s what I call dedication.
