Philadelphia Phillies (4-1) @ San Francisco Giants (4-2)

Date: Tuesday October 19th, 2010

Time: 4:19 pm EST

Preview: The Philadelphia Phillies and San Francisco Giants head back to the bay to play the third game of the National League Championship Series. The Phillies picked up a 6-1 win over the Giants on Sunday night, splitting the first two at home. The Phillies will come back with their game three starter Cole Hamels on Tuesday. Hamels finished the regular season with a 12-11 record and an earned run average of 3.06. In his only postseason start of the year, he went nine innings, allowing five hits and 0 runs in the win over the Reds. In his career, Hamels is 60-45. Hamels started two games against the Giants this season, not faring well in either. In those two starts, the left hander went 0-1 with a 7.36 earned run average.

The Giants will bring Matt Cain to the mound. Cain went 13-11 and finished with a 3.14 earned run average. The 26 year old right hander took a no decision in the game three battles with the Braves. This season when Cain pitched against Philadelphia he went 0-1, pitching six innings, allowing seven hits and 2 earned runs. Cody Ross, who was the hero in game one has had success against Hamels, 9-30 with four homeruns against him. Philadelphia will turn to slugger Ryan Howard, who is looking to take advantage of the lefty/right match-up against Matt Cain.

My Betting Picks: Philadelphia shows why they are the two time defending National League Champion. Phillies win this one going away. Phillies 8-4.
