NFL Locks of the Week
Chicago Bears +3 over the Detroit Lions
Last week on Monday night football Jay Cutler and the Chicago Bears surprised everyone as they gave the Minnesota Vikings and company a run for their money.
Not only did Jay Cutler have arguably his best game of the season with 273 yards, four touchdown passes and just one interception, but the Bears defense seemed to be on their game as well as they were forcing fumbles and dominated the potent Vikings offense in the first half.
This week Jay Cutler and company will be looking to keep a good thing going as they go up against the lowly Detroit Lions who will be without quarterback Matthew Stafford.
I really can’t see anyway the Bears can lose this game unless Jay Cutler gets back to his interception throwing ways.
Jacksonville Jaguars +1.5 over the Cleveland Browns
Despite the Jacksonville Jaguars basically being knocked out of playoff contention (a lot of different scenarios will need to happen in order to clinch a playoff berth) with three straight losses, they are still a very good football team and will not be going down without a fight in the last game of their season against the lowly Cleveland Browns.
The Browns on the other hand have played well as of late with three wins in a row coming into week 17 against the Jaguars with wins over the Pittsburgh Steelers, Kansas City Chiefs and the Oakland Raiders, but I don’t think they will be able to handle the Jacksonville running game in this one and will fall to Jacksonville to finish out their season.
Tennessee Titans -4 over the Seattle Seahawks
The Tennessee Titans got absolutely hammered against the San Diego Chargers on Christmas Day 42-17, but to the Titans credit, Vince Young and company were going up against the hottest team in the league.
This week they will have a chance to redeem themselves against the struggling Seattle Seahawks who were also dominated last week against the Green Bay Packers 48-10. The Titans may be out of the playoff race in the AFC, but they will be giving it their all in this game and should cover the -4 spread.
