NFL Locks of the Week
Philadelphia Eagles -10 over the Washington Redskins
The NFC East division is competitive on a annual basis and this season is no different, but the Washington Redskins have been a nonfactor in the division this season as they have only won three games this year and are 0-3 against NFC East opponents.
That being said the Philadelphia Eagles should just wipe the floor with the Skins this week and cover the -10 points spread fairly easy. Not only would the Eagles be able to beat the Skins if Washington were at 100% this weekend, but this week the Skins will be without both their star running backs in Clinton Portis, Ladell Betts and cornerback DeAngelo Hall. If that weren’t bad enough, the Skins might also be without Albert Haynesworth too who is still suffering from a bad ankle.
Minnesota Vikings -12.5 over the Chicago Bears
The Minnesota Vikings are on a roll this season as they have gotten out to an impressive 9-1 record this year behind arguably one of the best seasons in Brett Favre’s hall of fame career.
This week Favre and company will be going up against an NFC North division rival in the Chicago Bears who have been really struggling as of late. Jay Cutler has definitely been an upgrade at quarterback for the Bears this season, but the addition of Cutler hasn’t resulted in a winning season thus far as the Bears sit at a 4-6 record and third place in the NFC North.
The Bears will be looking to avoid a four game skid against the division leading Vikings this weekend, but Brett Favre and company are playing like one of the best teams in the NFL right now and will be extremely tough to beat for any team in the league at this point.
Whenever division rivals go head to head in the NFL it is always a tough battle, but in the end Minnesota will run away with the game in this one and easily cover the -12.5 point spread.
Miami Dolphins -3 over the Buffalo Bills
The AFC East division is dominated on an annual basis by the New England Patriots and this season is no different, but the Miami Dolphins are quickly emerging as a team to beat in the AFC. The Buffalo Bills, despite bringing Terrell Owens in the offseason, have gone in the opposite direction as they have struggled all season long.
Despite sitting at a 5-5 record right now, the Dolphins have a legitimate shot of competing for the one of the AFC Wildcard playoffs spots. With that being said every win from here on out will be huge, especially against divisional opponents like the Buffalo Bills.
Ricky Williams is a bit banged up, but even if Williams doesn’t have a big game against the Bills the Dolphins have enough weapons to beat Buffalo and cover the -3 point spread.
