NFL Locks of the Week
Green Bay Packers -1.5 over the Arizona Cardinals
Last weekend the Green Bay Packers went up against the Arizona Cardinals in a NFC Wildcard preview and absolutely dominated the entire game and came out with a 33-7 blowout victory. This weekend the Packers will have to have a repeat performance against the Arizona Cardinals if they want to advance to the second round of the playoffs to either face the New Orleans Saints or Brett Favre’s Minnesota Vikings.
It has been an interesting season for the Packers this year as they struggled early and lost the two games of the season they didn’t want to lose against the Minnesota Vikings, but after the second loss the Packers seemed reborn as they went on a tear and have been arguably the hottest team in the NFC coming into the playoffs.
Even though the Arizona Cardinals will be ready for the Green Bay Packers this time around, I believe that Aaron Rodgers and company will be up to the challenge and will be the team to advance to the next round!
Baltimore Ravens +3.5 over the New England Patriots
This season the Baltimore Ravens and New England Patriots have basically gone in different directions, but both teams will face off against each other in the first round of the playoffs in the AFC Wildcard game.
The New England Patriots came into this season with a lot of questions regarding the health of Tom Brady and the offense, but after a few weeks of a feeling out process, the Patriots got right back to where they left off before Brady went down last season with the knee injury that kept him out the whole year.
Unfortunately, Brady hasn’t been able to get the offense back to its dominant self and a result really struggled to make the playoffs this time around. Even though it was tougher than usual for Brady and company to get back into the postseason, they were still able to win the AFC East division title.
As for the Baltimore Ravens, they have had arguably one of the toughest schedule of any NFL team in the league this season, but were still able to clinch a playoff berth and a first round matchup against the New England Patriots.
This game will be close in my opinion, but in the end I think the Ravens will be just too much for Tom Brady and company to handle and Baltimore will advance to the second round.
