NFL Injuries Week 14
Perhaps the most notable injury coming into week 14 is New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s multiple injuries to his shoulder, finger on his throwing hand and his ribs. Even Brett Favre would mostly question playing with those kind of injuries coming into a game, but with the New England Patriots in desperate need of a win this weekend against the Carolina Panthers to stay on top in the AFC East, I am betting that Brady will suit up and play this weekend.
Here are the other notable NFL injuries in week 14:
Atlanta Falcons: Matt Ryan (turf toe), Michael Turner (ankle), Roddy White (knee)
The injury woes continue for the Falcons this week as all three of their offensive superstars are questionable this weekend in their matchup against the undefeated New Orleans Saints. Not good news for a Falcons team that is in desperate need of a win to keep their playoff chances alive.
Baltimore Ravens: Terrell Suggs (knee), Ed Reed (foot)
The Ravens defense just can’t seem to catch a break lately as they keep going up against very good offensive teams and with some of their best players on defense suffering from injuries. Last week Ed Reed could only watch from the sidelines as Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers craved up the Ravens defense. This week Reed and Suggs might be able to get back on the field as they are listed as questionable against the Detroit Lions this weekend.
Cincinnati Bengals: Chad Ochocinco (knee)
Ochocinco’s injury is by no means serious at this point, but he was limited in practice on Friday with a nagging knee injury which might effect his game against the Minnesota Vikings this weekend.
Houston Texans: Matt Schaub (shoulder), Steve Slaton (shoulder)
The Texans have struggled as of late and their struggles might continue with two major blows to the potent Houston offense. Matt Schaub has played brilliantly at times this season for the Texans, but he will most likely be dealing an injury to his non-throwing shoulder for the rest of the season and is listed as probable this weekend.
Schaub’s injury isn’t all that serious, but running back Steve Slaton’s injury to his shoulder has put him on the IR as he will be out the rest of the season.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Maurice Jones-Drew (knee), Mike Sims-Walkers (calf)
The Jaguars are in the mix for a AFC Wildcard playoff berth right now, but their two biggest offensive threats in running back Jones-Drew and wide receiver Sims-Walker are dealing with injuries that might hinder the team’s chances of getting into the postseason.
New England Patriots: Tom Brady (shoulder, ribs, finger), Fred Taylor (ankle)
The Patriots will have to keep winning games from here on out if they want to win the AFC East, but in the meantime they will have to deal with injuries to both Tom Brady and running back Fred Taylor who are both questionable for this weekend’s game against the Carolina Panthers.
