The Atlanta Falcons were one of the best teams in the NFC last season with the emergence of rookie quarterback Matt Ryan and solid ground game with the addition of running back Michael Turner. This season the Falcons have played really well at times, but have also struggled despite having one of the best rushing attacks in the league. The main reason the Falcons have been able to stay afloat in the NFC this season has been Turner’s impressive play coming out of the backfield.
Despite having one some of the best offensive weapons in the game, the Falcons suffered a big blow last week when running back Michael Turner went down with a high ankle sprain which has made him questionable for this week’s matchup against the New York Giants.
Here are some of the other notable injuries for week 11:
Baltimore Ravens: Todd Heap, Terrell Suggs
The Ravens got back to their winning ways last week against the lowly Cleveland Browns, but it didn’t come without consequence as tight end Todd Heap is banged up with a chest injury and Terrell Suggs with sit out this week against the Colts with a knee injury. Heap is still questionable for week 11.
Cincinnati Bengals: Cedric Benson
The Bengals have an easy matchup this week against the Oakland Raiders, but they might be without running back Cedric Benson as he nurses an injured hip that he suffered against the Pittsburgh Steelers last week. Even without Benson the Bengals should come away with an easy win in week 11, but the running back is still questionable and could still play against the Raiders.
Denver Broncos: Kyle Orton, Brandon Marshall
The Broncos have lost three straight games after losing to the Washington Redskins last weekend and things that gotten even worse this week as they have learned they will be without quarterback Kyle Orton this week due to an sprained ankle. Along with Orton the Broncos might be without their best receiver in Brandon Marshall who is listed as questionable with a neck and back injury.
Indianapolis Colts: Dwight Freeney
The Colts are coming off their biggest win of the season against their arch rivals in the New England Patriots, but it may have come with the cost of their best defensive player in defensive end Dwight Freeney who is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game against the Baltimore Ravens. Without Freeney the Ravens offense will not have half as much pressure on Joe Flacco and that might be the difference in the game.
Kansas City Chiefs: Dwayne Bowe
The Chiefs best wide receiver Dwayne Bowe will sit this weekend against the Pittsburgh Steelers after being suspended for a drug violation.
New Orleans Saints: Lance Moore, Reggie Bush, Darren Sharper
Bush and Sharper are the two big names that could be out of the lineup for the Saints this weekend as both players are nursing knee injuries that have them listed as questionable. Moore might also miss another game with his ailing ankle injury.
Seattle Seahawks: Julius Jones
The Seahawks will be without their starting running back Julius Jones this week against the Minnesota Vikings. Jones has a bruised lung and will be watching from the sidelines in week 11.
Washington Redskins: Albert Haynesworth, Clinton Portis
Haynesworth is listed as questionable as of right now with a ankle injury, but Clinton Portis will miss yet another game with his concussion. The Redskins will need Haynesworth this weekend if they hope to compete with the Dallas Cowboys.
