Playoff Fantasy Football Done Right

My friends at Blogs With Balls have challenged me to enter their Playoff Fantasy Football competition, and I have assembled the best team possible under the stringent rules. You have to pick at least one player/defense from each of the 12 playoff teams, and no more than three from any one team. My team is below. If you think you can do any better, the competition is still open at the Blogs With Balls site.

QB Michael Vick, PHI
QB Tom Brady, NE
QB Drew Brees, NO
RB Jamaal Charles, KC
RB Reggie Bush, NO
RB Michael Turner, ATL
RB LeSean McCoy, PHI
WR DeSean Jackson, PHI
WR Santonio Holmes, NYJ
WR Devin Hester, CHI
WR Marques Colston, NO
TE Tony Gonzalez, ATL
TE Alge Crumpler, NE
K Shaun Suisham, PIT

Fantasy Football Sit ‘Em: Week 5

Quarterback

Jay Cutler, Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears are coming off their worst performance of the season as their offense was just dominated by the New York Giants defense, but not only did the Giants sacked Jay Cutler nine times they also forced him out of the game with a concussion.

As a safe play, I would sit Cutler this week if you have a viable backup as he still might be feeling the effects of the concussion and could struggle.

Running Back

Pierre Thomas, New Orleans Saints

The defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints have been a passing team for quite some time now, but last season they got some good production out of running back Pierre Thomas. This season Thomas has been and will continue to battle an ankle injury.

Fantasy Football Start ‘Em: Week 5

Quarterback

Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints

In Week 5, the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints will be going up against the lowly Arizona Cardinals defense and that means perennial Pro Bowl quarterback Drew Brees could be in for a big day.

Brees hasn’t had the kind of fantasy football impact that everyone predicted, but this week could be the turning point.

Running Back

Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings might be going up against arguably the best all around defense in the league in the New York Jets, but with Randy Moss thrown in the mix, Rex Ryan’s secondary might be a little confused on who to pay the most attention to and that could result in some big numbers for Adrian Peterson.

Wide Receiver

Miles Austin, Dallas Cowboys

Fantasy Football: Week 5 Pickups

Quarterback

Kevin Kolb, Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles suffered a major blow last week against the Washington Redskins when superstar and arguably the best fantasy football quarterback Michael Vick went down with a rib injury that kept him on the sidelines for the rest of the game.

Once Vick went down and really struggled to get up as he was in obvious pain, the consensus was that he would miss some time and the starting job would go to Kevin Kolb for the time being.

Well, it is uncertain how long Vick will be out, but it would be safe to say that he will miss the next two weeks and if you are thin at QB then Kolb is great pickup this week.

Running Back

Ryan Torain, Washington Redskins

Fantasy Football: Is Kevin Kolb a Good Option for Michael Vick Owners? The Philadelphia Eagles have been surrounded by media attention this season and for all the right reasons, but it might take a turn for the worst with Michael Vick banged up.
