This week the one game to watch will be on Monday night with Tom Brady and the New England Patriots taking on the undefeated New Orleans Saints and MVP candidate Drew Brees. Starting any offensive players in this game on either team is a good idea, but there will be some other players to look at before starting any of your Saints or Pats.
Start ‘Em
Quarterback
Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons
Last season the Atlanta Falcons rookie quarterback Matt Ryan took the NFL by storm as he led his team to the playoffs with wide receiver Roddy White and running back Michael Turner at his disposal.
This season Matt Ryan has another offensive weapon at his disposal with future hall of fame tight end Tony Gonzalez, this week against the Tampa Bay Bucs expect these two to have a big day against a struggling Bucs defense.
Other notable QBs: Carson Palmer, Cincinnati Bengals; Brett Favre, Minnesota Vikings; Donovan McNabb, Philadelphia Eagles
Chris Johnson, Tennessee Titans
No running back in the NFL has been hotter this season than the Tennessee Titans Chris Johnson. This year Johnson has just made opposing defenses look ridiculous with huge performances, but now that Vince Young is back to his old self and a big threat out of the backfield, Johnson has been even better as the defense has to stay on their heels.
Expect another big game out of the standout running back this week against the Arizona Cardinals.
Other notable RBs: Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings; Cedric Benson, Cincinnati Bengals (pending injury), Maurice Jones-Drew, Jacksonville Jaguars
Michael Crabtree, San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Alex Smith has struggled after bursting back on the scene a few weeks ago, but tight end Vernon Davis and rookie wide receiver Michael Crabtree have become legitimate fantasy starters with good yardage and touchdowns.
Other notable WRs: Randy Moss, New England Patriots; Larry Fitzgerald, Arizona Cardinals; Reggie Wayne, Indianapolis Colts
Tight End
Tony Gonzalez, Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons will be looking to bounce back after losing to the New York Giants last week and they will have a good chance to do just that against the lowly the Tampa Bay Bucs this weekend. Roddy White is Matt Ryan’s number one target, but Gonzalez should get some good looks this weekend as the Falcons will almost certainly light up the scoreboard.
Other notable TEs: Vernon Davis, San Francisco 49ers; Dallas Clark, Indianapolis Colts
Kicker
Nate Kaeding, San Diego Chargers
This week the Chargers will be going up against the lowly Kansas City Chiefs where San Diego should put up some big numbers. As a result, Kaeding will get a lot of action this week even if it is just a bunch of extra points and a couple of field goals.
Other notable Ks: Ryan Longwell, Minnesota Vikings; Stephen Gostkowski, New England Patriots; Rob Bironas, Tennessee Titans
Defense
Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles will being go head to head against division rival Washington Redskins. The Philly defense has been impressive this season, while the Redskins offense has been just pitiful this season. With that being said the Philly defense is poised to have a big day in week 12 against Washington.
Other notable Defenses: Cincinnati Bengals, Baltimore Ravens, Minnesota Vikings
