It is week eight in the NFL and up to this point in the season we have been entertained by incredible offenses and hall of fame caliber quarterbacks that have been lighting up the scoreboards on a weekly basis and making highlight reels that will be played for decades to come.
This week we can expect more of the same as offenses will continue to shine throughout week eight! Here is a list of fantasy sleepers for week eight in the NFL!
NFL Fantasy Sleepers Week 8
Quarterback
Alex Smith, San Francisco 49ers
The Alex Smith experiment in San Francisco took a turn for the worst in his first few seasons as the 49ers starting quarterback, but five years after the Niners draft the promising young quarterback Smith has been given another shot to revitalize his career by the Bay. Smith will get the start against the Colts in week eight and be sure he will make the best of it, especially with Colts pass rusher Dwight Freeney likely to be watching from the sidelines.
Running Back
LeSean McCoy, Philadelphia Eagles
With Brian Westbrook most likely out of this game against the hated rival New York Giants the Eagles will look to running back LeSean McCoy to take the bulk of the carries. McCoy has yet to prove that he can really make something happen in this Philly offense, but if he ever had a shot to do just that it is this week against New York.
Wide Receiver
Malcolm Floyd, San Diego Chargers
The Chargers are playing the lowly Raiders and Phillip Rivers will most likely have a field day against the Oakland defense that has just been exhausted as of late since they have had to spend the majority of the time on the field instead of catching their breath on the sidelines. Expect big things from the Chargers offense and Malcolm Floyd as Rivers will have plenty of chances to spread the football around.
Tight End
Vernon Davis, San Francisco 49ers
Davis has been an underachiever basically his entire NFL career, but after Alex Smith replaced Shaun Hill in the second half last week the two connected for three touchdowns in just one half of play. Smith now owns the starting job in San Francisco and I get the feeling Davis will quickly turn out to be his favorite target. The 49ers play the Colts in which they are long shot to win the game, but I think Smith and Davis will hook up for at least one touchdown.
Defense
Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins shocked the New Orleans Saints last week after picking off quarterback Drew Brees times in the first half, they had somewhat of a collapse in the second half as the Saints were able to take over, but they were very impressive in the first half to say the least and they were playing against the best offense and perhaps the best team in the NFL. Expect big things from them in week eight against the New York Jets.
