NFL Fantasy Sleeper Report: Week 6

It is easy to become the fantasy football champion in your league when you have players like Adrian Peterson, Drew Brees or Peyton Manning starting on your squad on a weekly basis, but the best fantasy football players are the ones who know how to pickup fantasy sleeper picks and catch everyone off guard.

There have been some pretty big sleepers in the NFL this season that have turned fantasy teams from a weekly loser to the top of their league. One of the those players, and perhaps the biggest sleeper pick this season, has been the Cincinnati Bengals running back Cedric Benson.

Benson has been nothing short of amazing this season as he came basically from nowhere as most of his career he has been a underachiever with the Chicago Bears, but he has really found his stride with the Bengals as he rushed for 487 yards and three touchdowns in the first five weeks of the season.

This week Benson looks like he will have another big game against the Houston Texans who have struggled against the run all season long, but now Benson is expected to have big games and is no longer a sleeper from here on out.

Here is are the sleepers to look out for in week six:

NFL Fantasy Sleepers Week 6

Quarterback

Mark Sanchez, New York Jets

Sanchez has struggled over the last two games which resulted in losses for the Jets, but he will get right back on track this week against the lowly Buffalo Bills. The Jets will use and abuse the Bills in week six as they try to get back to dominant status. I fully expected Sanchez to have his best game as a pro in week six.

Running Back

Sammy Morris, New England Patriots

Fred Taylor is the feature back in New England, but with his injury Morris will step in and try to get the job done in his place. Last week Morris was pretty impressive in the loss to the Denver Broncos with 67 rushing yards. This week Morris will most likely get 20+ carries and break the 100 yard mark and score a TD against the winless Tennessee Titans.

Wide Receiver

Hakeem Nicks, New York Giants

Steve Smith and Mario Manningham are Eli Manning’s new favorite targets this season, but Hakeem Nicks has somewhat slipped through the cracks in New York as he has caught touchdown passes in both of the last two games and had about 50 receiving yards of those two games as well. Expected that to continue in week six, you might be able to pick up Nicks as free agent right now.

Tight End

Jermichael Finley, Green Bay Packers

The Packers are poised for a huge offensive week against the division rival Detroit Lions this week as Aaron Rodgers is predicted to have a breakout week. Expected Rodgers to spread the ball around all day long and hit Finley in the endzone once or twice in week six.

Defense

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Bucs might not have the dominant defense they used to have when the won the Super Bowl early in the decade, but they occasionally show signs of life on the defensive side of the football and this week they should put up some good numbers against the Carolina Panthers. Jake Delhomme could have a good game, but more than likely he will throw one or two picks as his skills continue to decline.
