NFL Fantasy Sleepers Week 17
Quarterback
Kyle Orton, Denver Broncos
The Denver Broncos will be fighting for their playoff lives this weekend against the Kansas City Chiefs as they need to win this game and have a few other games decide their fate. Regardless of the outcome, I fully expect the Broncos to be on their A game in week 17 against the Chiefs.
As a result, quarterback Kyle Orton should have a big game connecting with Brandon Marshall all day long!
Running Back
Reggie Bush, New Orleans Saints
This week is pretty pointless for the New Orleans Saints and they will look to rest a good majority of their starters, especially running back Pierre Thomas who is a little banged up right now with an ailing rib injury.
With that being said, Reggie Bush will most likely get the bulk of the carries against the Carolina Panthers this week and could quite possibly have a touchdown or two.
Wide Receiver
Austin Collie, Indianapolis Colts
Last week the Indianapolis Colts head coach Jim Caldwell decided to sit the majority of his starters against the New York Jets and as a result they lost their first game of the season, but that didn’t bother the team as they have their sights set on the playoffs.
This week it will be more of the same for the Colts as their backups should get a lot of playing time against the Buffalo Bills. So it will be Austin Collie’s time to shine!
Tight End
Dave Thomas, New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints are coming into week 17 banged up and with two straight losses. Like I said before, the Saints really don’t have anything to play for in this week’s game against the Carolina Panthers so they will almost certainly be sitting their starters.
This week Jeremy Shockey is nursing a toe injury and is questionable, with that being said Dave Thomas will get a shot at probably playing most of the game if not all the game in week 17.
Defense
Pittsburgh Steelers
The defending Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers are in serious desperation mode coming into week 17 as their chances of making the playoffs are slim to say the least, but one thing is for sure, they will be playing their hearts out against the Miami Dolphins this weekend.
The Dolphins offense will have their work cut out for them against the Steelers as the Pittsburgh defense will be out for blood in this one!
