All eyes will be on the head to head battle between Peyton Manning and Tom Brady in week 10, but there will most likely be no players for fantasy sleeper consideration on Indianapolis Colts and the New England Patriots. Instead there are definitely some other teams and players to keep your eye on this week as there will be some unexpected fantasy gems on the horizon.
NFL Fantasy Sleepers Week 10
Quarterback
Matt Cassel, Kansas City Chiefs
Despite the Chiefs being arguably one of the worst teams in the NFL this season, Matt Cassel has played pretty well and he might have his best week yet against the Oakland Raiders. Wide receiver Chris Chambers had a huge impact in his first game with the Chiefs last week with two touchdowns and he might just turned into Cassel’s favorite target in the offense.
Running Back
Rock Cartwright, Washington Redskins
Who? Yeah, I asked the same question, but this week this nobody running back could have a huge day like Ryan Moats did a few weeks ago for the Houston Texans.
Clinton Portis is out with a concussion and Ladell Betts is nursing an ankle sprain, so now the Redskins will turn to third stringer Rock Cartwright to have the bulk of the carries this week against the Denver Broncos.
Wide Receiver
Robert Meachem, New Orleans Saints
The Saints are the best team in the NFL right now with a high powered offense that is near unstoppable. It is pretty much a no brainer to start any offensive player on New Orleans each and every week, but this week I believe Meachem will have another breakout performance with the Saints taking on the St. Louis Rams who will be helpless to stop the New Orleans offense. Last week Meachem had his best week yet with 98 yards and a touchdown, expect more of the same this week.
Tight End
Todd Heap, Baltimore Ravens
At one point in his career Todd Heap was arguably one of the best tight ends in the NFL. Now he doesn’t even get mentioned in the conversation, but this week he could have his best week of the season with the Ravens taking on the lowly Cleveland Browns. Joe Flacco should be able to throw it all over the field and Heap could get a good chunk of yards and possibly a few endzone looks.
Defense
Buffalo Bills
The Bills have by no means been all that impressive on the defensive side of the football this season, but they do have one of the leaders in interceptions this season with Jairus Byrd who has seven picks on the season which ties the Saints Darren Sharper for the league lead. With that being said Vince Young could be in for long day if he decided to go with more of an air attack this week against Buffalo.
