Prior to the start of every NFL season I have to take a look at the futures for each NFL division, and it is that time of the year again. 

Every year there are the favorites to win the division but you can’t make money betting on the favorite each year.  As anyone knows, what is expected to happen rarely does.  Here is my two cents for the NFC West. 

The San Francisco 49ers is the favorites to win the West this year.  I completely understand this bet and would love it if they weren’t -205.  This could be the year that this team finally jumps up a notch.  They have been rebuilding for the last several seasons but there is still a question at quarterback. 

When I am betting on a future bet, I am looking for a good value.  In this case I think that value is with the Seattle Seahawks.  Because Matt Hasselbeck was injured most of last season, they didn’t have much of a chance to win and he is the best quarterback in the division.  Having a healthy quarterback can hide the question marks they have at running back. 

The Seahawks are a great value bet at +475.  They are the only team that doesn’t have a quarterback question and they have a bunch of veterans in the other role positions that can easily allow this team to march straight to the top of what is quite possibly the weakest division of the NFL.
