Nets Snap Skid Against Clippers

Even though the New Jersey Nets seem destined to grab that number one pick in the next NBA Draft, which will most likely be Kentucky’s John Wall, they are flirting with being the worst team (record wise) in NBA history.

Coming into Wednesday night against the Los Angeles Clippers at the IZOD Center in New Jersey, the Nets had an 11 game losing streak that they were would come to an end against Baron Davis and the lowly Clippers.

Not only had the New Jersey Nets not won a single game in the last 11, their record is just ugly to look at as they stand dead last in the Atlantic division right now and the entire league for that matter with at 3-40.

Yes folks, that is correct, the New Jersey Nets have only won three games the entire season and lost a whopping 40 games coming into this matchup with the Clippers. It doesn’t get much worse than that, but there was some light at the end of the tunnel for the lowly Nets on Wednesday night, despite not having Devin Harris or Courtney Lee in the lineup, as New Jersey was able to come out on top on their floor in convincing fashion 103-87.

Even though this is obviously a step in the right direction for the New Jersey Nets, at this point in time, the Nets really don’t have much to play for besides avoiding having the worst record in NBA history.

Back in the 1972-73 NBA season, the Philadelphia 76ers set the record for the worst record in the NBA by winning just nine games all season long and finishing the season 9-73. So all the Nets have to do to avoid the part of the history books that no one wants to be in is win at least six more games this season and with 39 games to go there is plenty of times to turn things around and avoid being considered the worst team in NBA history.
