Date: Saturday January 8th, 2011
Time: 12:00 pm EST

The Panthers hired former Miami Ohio head coach Michael Haywood to be the man starting next season.
It took two overtimes, but the North Carolina out of the Atlantic Coast Conference downed the Tennessee Volunteers, out of the Southeastern Conference. The win was in the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl in Nashville, Tennessee. Casey Barth kicked a 27 yard field goal to win the game in the second overtime. The game continued earlier in the game when Tennessee was flagged for having too many men on the field. This is the second time this season the Volunteers were flagged for the penalty in a huge spot in the game.
Tyler Yates, the North Carolina quarterback threw 234 yards and also led the Tar Heels to the game tying drive late in regulation.
