Sweet 16: Kansas (1) vs. Richmond (12)

Southwest Region: Kansas Jayhawks (1) vs. Richmond Spiders (12) Fri. March 25, 2011 7:27 p.m. EST

Ever since the beginning of the 2011 NCAA Tournament, the Kansas Jayhawks (1) have been on upset watch as Bill Self and company just haven’t been able to shake that devastating loss to Northern Iowa in the second round last year. Even though that loss will always be in the back of the Jayhawks minds moving forward, the memory of that upset will never be more fresh in their minds than on this Friday night when they take on the Richmond Spiders (12) in the Sweet 16.

There is no question that the Richmond Spiders (12) have played brilliantly this season and throughout the 2011 NCAA Tournament, the Kansas Jayhawks (1) will not be taking it easy on this possible Cinderella story as the last thing they want to do is get beaten by a much lesser opponent when they are so close to getting back to the Final Four.

Sweet 16: VCU (11) vs. Florida State (10)

Southwest Region: VCU Rams (11) vs. Florida State Seminoles (10) Fri. March 25, 2011 9:57 p.m. EST

The Cinderella story is officially underway as the VCU Rams (11) continue to make their way past some of the best college basketball teams in the country. First it was the USC Trojans in the First Four, then it was the Georgetown Hoyas in the second round followed by their most recent and most impressive win against the Purdue Boilermakers.

Now the VCU Rams (11) will look to pull off yet another upset as they are set to take on the Florida State Seminoles (10) in the Sweet 16. Even though the Seminoles are no Hoyas or Boilermakers, the Rams have been labeled as the underdog once again as people might not be completely convinced that they can compete with the best of the best in the 2011 NCAA Tournament.

Sweet 16: Butler (8) vs. Wisconsin (4)

Southwest Region: Butler Bulldogs (8) vs. Wisconsin Badgers (4) Thurs. March 24, 2011 9:57 p.m. EST

Every single year during March Madness there are one or two teams that just defy the odds with every single game and make it deeper in the NCAA Tournament than anyone could have anticipated. This season that one team to pull off the biggest upsets consecutively has been the VCU Rams (11), but the team that has been able to shock the world two years in a row has been the Butler Bulldogs (8) as they upset the Pittsburgh Panthers in the third round.

Having advanced to the Sweet 16 in two consecutive seasons, the consensus is that teams probably won’t underestimate this team moving forward as Butler isn’t going to surprise anyone anymore. With that being said, things will get really interesting this Thursday night when the Butler Bulldogs (8) take on yet another tough team in the Wisconsin Badgers (4).

Last season the Duke Blue Devils (1) came into the 2010 NCAA Tournament will high hopes of beating the best of the best during March Madness and winning an NCAA title. Even though most people had written them off as an inferior team in the tourney, Coach K was able to lead his squad to yet another NCAA title over the underdog Butler Bulldogs (8).

Coming into the 2011 NCAA Tournament, the Duke Blue Devils (1) are looking to do something that not many have done in the past by winning two consecutive NCAA titles. So far, the Blue Devils have played extremely well as they absolutely dominated the Hampton Pirates (87-45) in the second round and followed that up with a close win over the Michigan Wolverines (73-71).
