The Denver Nuggets have been amongst the best teams in the NBA over the past two seasons or so, but even though things have started looking up in the Mile High City, George Karl and company could be without their best player and scorer next season as Carmelo Anthony seems to be on his way out via trade.
Obviously, trading a player of Carmelo Anthony’s caliber is no easy task as it can be near impossible to get equal value in return. A few years ago, the Los Angeles Lakers have the same problem with four-time NBA champion Kobe Bryant as he was arguably the best player in the league, but impossible to trade as it was impossible to find a deal that benefited both teams equally.
Ultimately, Kobe didn’t go anywhere and the Lakers made a deal to bring in All-Star forward Pau Gasol in the following season and the result speaks for itself as they have won two NBA titles in a row.

Now Carmelo Anthony is no Kobe Bryant, but he can definitely put up the points like Kobe as Melo is arguably the best scorer in the league today. With that being said, finding equal value will be tough, but the Denver Nuggets may have found a team to deal with as the Sacramento Kings seem extremely interested in bringing the superstar to Northern California.
Even though teaming up with second-year point guard and reigning Rookie of the Year Tyreke Evans would be good move for Melo, the Denver Nuggets might not get the right pieces in return as the Sacramento Kings don’t really have much to offer.
There is no question that Tyreke Evans and rookie center DeMarcus Cousins are pretty much untouchable right now, but they could send players like Carl Landry, Omri Casspi and the newly acquired Samuel Dalembert to the Denver Nuggets in exchange for Melo.
It is very uncertain at this point what teams will be involved in this blockbuster trade for Carmelo Anthony, but along with the Sacramento Kings, the Minnesota Timberwolves and the New Jersey Nets have also been mentioned as possible destinations.
