NBA Trade: Knicks Ship Nate Robinson to Celtics

The trading season in the NBA is officially over and a lot of NBA teams weren’t shy about mixing up their rosters in an attempt to compete with the best of the best in the second half of the regular season.

Over the past month or so there had been a lot of speculation surrounding the Boston Celtics and whether or not they would make a deal before the NBA trade deadline this past Thursday. The one name that kept getting mentioned as player that might be on his way out of Boston was sharp shooting Ray Allen who an expiring contract in which many teams were looking for with the deadline looming.

Fortunately for Ray Allen, the trade deadline past and he was still in a Boston Celtics uniform to face the arch rival Los Angeles Lakers, but the same couldn’t be said for journeyman Eddie House who will be on his way to his ninth team in his nine year NBA career.

The Boston Celtics have been looking for a guard to come off the bench that was a bit more versatile in the scoring department than Eddie House who basically is nothing more than an outside shooter. As a result, the Atlantic division leading Celtics traded Eddie House to the New York Knicks in exchange for the three-time slam dunk champion Nate Robinson.

Even though the Celtics get more of a scoring punch off the bench at the point guard position, Nate Robinson also bring his baggage with him as he quite the problem for the New York Knicks from time to time.

Last season the Celtics made a similar addition to their team by signing troubled point guard Stephon Marbury and even though the veteran guard played well in limited time, he wasn’t as much of a game changer they thought he might be and was ultimately a bust.

Personally, I believe Nate Robinson will be much of the same as he could result hurting rather than helping the Boston Celtics.
