NBA betting free picks for Monday: Suns vs. Bucks

Nothing makes me happier than when one of my NBA betting position goes exactly how I drew it up, and that was the case on Sunday as Boston took care of business in Toronto.  Nine games on the board tonight in the NBA, and we’ll return to something we’ve done quite a bit with this year–looking to back the Western Conference teams when they take on their counterparts from back East.  The Milwaukee Bucks are a perfect example of just how weak the Eastern Conference is this year relative to the West.  The Bucks have been a mess all year with a record of 15-19 and a .441 winning percentage but if the season ended today they’d be headed to the playoffs as the #8 seed.  If they played out west, they’d be the #13 team in the conference.  Milwaukee heads to Phoenix tonight and we’ve got a position on the game:

MILWAUKEE BUCKS VS. PHOENIX SUNS

Despite a recent three game winning streak, the Milwaukee Bucks aren’t a very good team.  Prior to that unexpected bit of success, they’d won 3 of their previous 14 games.  The team has some talented players including Andrew Bogut and Michael Redd, but are horrible on the defensive end.  That’s never a good thing when you’re facing the highest scoring team in the NBA as they will be here.  Phoenix is 23-14 on the year and are part of the logjam in the middle of the Western Conference pack.  They’re currently tied with San Antonio and Denver for third place, one game ahead of Portland and two games ahead of Houston.  Every win is important out West, and they’ve got a made to order matchup here.

Phoenix has covered five of their last eight games and has feasted on teams with losing records all season long.  The Suns are 10-5 SU and against the spread against teams with losing records and catch Milwaukee in the second of back to back games, with the Bucks losing and failing to cover against the Lakers on Sunday.  The Suns have dominated Milwaukee in head to head play with a 21-4 SU mark since 1992, though the Bucks have held their own against the spread leaving Phoenix with a 14-10 ATS mark in the series.

Just a bad tactical matchup for Milwaukee.  They don’t have the defensive intensity to slow down the game and turn it into a half court battle, and they can’t win a shootout with their high scoring hosts.  If the Bucks’ have tired legs from playing yesterday, it’ll just make things worse.  Look for the Suns to win this one going away and easily cover the pointspread.

PLAY PHOENIX -9′ OVER MILWAUKEE
