Short card of NBA betting action for Monday with only 5 games scheduled and one of those (San Antonio/Cleveland) is currently off the board. We’ll take a look at a inter-conference battle as the New Jersey Nets head to Memphis to take on the Grizzlies. Everyone knows about the Nets and how they’re mired so far in last place overall that its not even funny. Memphis is in 9th place in the Western Conference four games back of 8th place Portland for the final playoff spot.
MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES VS. NEW JERSEY NETS:
The Nets are actually coming into this game off a victory–one of their 7 wins on the season. New Jersey upset New York last time out, winning by 10 as 8 point road underdogs. Unfortunately, lighting won’t be striking twice here. The Nets can occasionally sneak up on the bottom feeders of the Eastern Conference but they’ve been pulverized by the Western Conference this year. In 22 games against the West this year the Nets are 1-21 SU and 5-17 ATS. They’re also 13-17 overall on the road, and just 1-5 SU/1-4-1 ATS as a road underdog of 6′ to 9 points.
The Grizzlies, on the other hand, are coming in off a loss and need this game if they even want to think about making the playoffs. One thing you have to like about Memphis is that they take care of business against bad teams. They’re 15-7 SU/14-8 ATS against teams with losing records. They’re also 5-1 SU/6-0 ATS against the Atlantic Division this year. The Grizzlies won by 10 at New Jersey earlier this year and lest you start thinking about a potential ‘revenge’ position on the Nets keep in mind that they’re 0-20 SU/4-14-1 ATS when trying to revenge a home loss this season. New Jersey’s average point differential this season is an insane -10.3 per game and Memphis will do better than that in a blowout victory.
