NBA betting continues on Friday night with three playoff games on tap.  We’ll take a look at a Western Conference matchup between the Utah Jazz and Denver Nuggets.  The Jazz earned a series split in Denver despite losing starting center Mehmet Okur to a ruptured Achilles’ tendon.  Games three and four are in Salt Lake City where the Jazz are historically very tough.  Game four will be a rare Sunday contest in Utah with the series shifting back to Denver for Game 5.

UTAH JAZZ VS. DENVER NUGGETS:

The Jazz may get Andrei Kirilenko back for a potential game 6, but caught a scheduling break with the next two games on their tough home court at the Energy Solutions Arena.  For the Nuggets, Kenyon Martin is listed as ‘questionable’ and missed practice on Thursday to rest his tender knee but he’s expected to play.  Utah split two games with the Nuggets at home this season, winning by 10 in February after an early January loss.  That loss was right around the time the Jazz started to play great basketball–they were literally a different team in the second half of the season.  The pointspread tally in Salt Lake is fairly even–the Nuggets have covered 3 of the last 5 but going back further Utah holds a 14-12 edge.  Straight up, its been all Jazz–Utah has won 5 of the last 6 and 24 of the last 28 meetings.

The Jazz were a great home court investment this season posting a 26-13 ATS mark and were also money in the bank as a favorite with a 36-20 record against the pointspread.  Denver was a much better team at home than on the road.  They were 19-22 SU away from home this season, making them the only team in the Western Conference playoffs with a losing record on the road.  Their ATS record on the road was even worse at 16-21.  We’ll look for Utah to take care of business on their home floor tonight.
