NBA Basketball Free Picks
The title of this post is, of course, a reference to the Milwaukee Bucks ENERGEE! Dancers. Seriously, the Bucks may have the hottest dance girls in the league but they’ve definitely got the worst name of any NBA team’s dance troupe. Anyway, NBA betting takes us to Milwaukee as the Bucks host the Boston Celtics. The Bucks have been our personal ATM machine for much of the season, and they’ve been tearing it up of late. They’re currently in 5th place in the Eastern Conference. Boston is in third place, leading fourth place Atlanta by 1 game.
MILWAUKEE BUCKS VS. BOSTON CELTICS
We’re going to bet on the Milwaukee Bucks until they give us a reason to do otherwise, and so far they’ve done nothing close to that. All the Bucks have done this year is go 40-21 against the pointspread including a 19-8 ATS mark as a favorite. They’re currently on a 14-3-1 ATS run with 15 SU wins during that stretch.
Short card of NBA betting action for Monday with only 5 games scheduled and one of those (San Antonio/Cleveland) is currently off the board. We’ll take a look at a inter-conference battle as the New Jersey Nets head to Memphis to take on the Grizzlies. Everyone knows about the Nets and how they’re mired so far in last place overall that its not even funny. Memphis is in 9th place in the Western Conference four games back of 8th place Portland for the final playoff spot.
MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES VS. NEW JERSEY NETS:
The Nets are actually coming into this game off a victory–one of their 7 wins on the season. New Jersey upset New York last time out, winning by 10 as 8 point road underdogs. Unfortunately, lighting won’t be striking twice here. The Nets can occasionally sneak up on the bottom feeders of the Eastern Conference but they’ve been pulverized by the Western Conference this year. In 22 games against the West this year the Nets are 1-21 SU and 5-17 ATS. They’re also 13-17 overall on the road, and just 1-5 SU/1-4-1 ATS as a road underdog of 6′ to 9 points.
NBA betting takes us out west to the Arco Arena in Sacramento as the Oklahoma City Thunder take on the Kings. The Thunder are currently 6th in the NBA’s Western Conference and have won 7 of their L10 SU. They’re 1 game behind 5th place Phoenix and 2 1/2 games behind 4th place Utah, so they could very easily play themselves into home court advantage in the playoffs. The Kings have lost 7 of 10 and have the third worst record in the conference.
OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER VS. SACRAMENTO KINGS
The Kings have actually covered their last five games, but have only covered 2 of their last seven games at Arco Arena. Forward Jason Thompson is still out for Sacramento and though he’s not the kind of player who’ll have his injury be the lead story on ‘Sportscenter’ he’s a very valuable member of the team and leave the Kings with a big hole in their frontcourt.
NBA betting on Saturday’s crowded sportsbook dance card takes us to Miami where the Atlanta Hawks head south to take on the Heat. Miami has been off since their OT victory against the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night, while Atlanta played last night at home holding off a tough challenge from the lowly Golden State Warriors. The Hawks are in third place in the Eastern Conference, two games behind 2nd place Orlando. Miami is trying to hang on to the #8 and final playoff position, leading Charlotte by 1 game.
